Undergraduate Program:
Program Requirements
The Personal Financial Planning undergraduate degree program consists of the following requirements:
- 39 – 40 credit hours in general requirements
- 8 – 9 credit hours in communications
- 9 credit hours in social sciences
- 6 credit hours in humanities
- 7 credit hours in natural sciences
- 9 credit hours in quantitative studies
- 58 credit hours in professional studies
- 28 credit hours in professional FSHS courses
- 6 hours in integrative studies
- 24 credit hours in supporting courses
- 26 – 27 credit hours in unrestricted electives
- 124 total credit hours required for graduation

Additional requirements:
- Each student must earn grades of "C" or better.
- The University General Education requirements must be met.
- Each student must complete at least 30 K-State resident credits to be considered for a degree from K-State.
- Each student must complete 20 of the last 30 hours of resident credit at K-State.
- A minimum of 45 hours must be at a course level of 300 or above.
Note: Up to half of the credits required for a four-year degree may be completed at an accredited two-year college.
