Institute of Personal Financial Planning

Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Inc. owns the marks CFP®, CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, and CFP (with flame logo)®, which it awards to individuals who successfully complete initial and ongoing certification requirements. Kansas State University does not certify individuals to use the CFP®, CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ and CFP (with flame logo)® certification marks. CFP® Certification is granted only by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Inc. to those persons who, in addition to completing an educational requirement such as this CFP Board-Registered Program, have met its ethics, experience and examination requirements.

Graduate Degree Program

Personal Financial Planning Certificate Program

Students can earn a graduate certificate in Personal Financial Planning entirely online. Graduates are eligible to sit for the CFP® Certification Examination upon successful completion of the program.

Financial Therapy Certificate Program

Students can earn a graduate certificate in Financial Therapy entirely online.

Master's Program

Students can earn a master’s degree in Personal Financial Planning entirely online. Graduates are eligible to sit for the CFP® Certification Examination upon successful completion of the program.

Doctoral Program

This hybrid program allows students to take online courses during the fall and spring semesters, and participate in intensive 10-day summer experiences. Students can earn a Ph.D. degree in four years or less. Graduates are eligible to sit for the CFP® Certification Examination.
